Mad Max 2

Mad Max 2 (1981) is a post-apocalyptic action film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by George Miller and starring Mel Gibson. Oil is gone. Civilization with it. The Australian Outback has become a wasteland where fuel is the only currency and violence is the only law.

Max Rockatansky drifts alone through the dust in his supercharged black interceptor until he reaches a fortified compound sitting on top of a precious gasoline reserve. A settlement of survivors holds it. Outside, a war party led by the masked Lord Humungus — helmeted, built, unhurried — has them surrounded and is running out of patience. Max has no stake in the fight. He takes one anyway. Gibson delivers almost the entire performance in silence, through throttle and expression.

Miller shot the sequel on a smaller budget than the original and produced something far bigger: the car chases, assembled almost entirely with physical stunts and in-camera cuts, set a template that directors have been copying for four decades.
