On her eighteenth birthday, New York art student Clary Fray witnesses a killing in a nightclub that nobody else seems to see. The discovery drops her into a world layered over our own, full of runes, warlocks, vampires and werewolves. She falls in with the cocky Jace, the disciplined Alec, his sister Isabelle, and her oldest friend Simon, who clings to a normal life as long as he can. Katherine McNamara plays Clary, Dominic Sherwood is Jace, and Harry Shum Jr. is the warlock Magnus Bane.
