Synopsis
The Iceman (2012) is Ariel Vromen's crime thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Michael Shannon plays a doting suburban husband who, off the clock, kills people for the mob.
The film draws on Richard Kuklinski, a contract killer who claimed roughly 250 hits across two decades. His wife Deborah (Winona Ryder) and their daughters never learn the truth; they believe he dubs cartoons for a living. He stays calm at the dinner table and colder still on a job, which is where the nickname comes from. Working for crime boss Roy DeMeo (Ray Liotta), Kuklinski crosses paths with a freezer-truck partner known as Mr. Freezy (Chris Evans) and edges closer to exposure every year.
Shannon builds the monster with stillness instead of theatrics: a heavy stare, few words, a flatness that unsettles. David Schwimmer, James Franco and Stephen Dorff fill out the cast.
