Grindhouse

Grindhouse (2007) is a back-to-back double feature you can watch online on iFILM. Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino packed two full-length horror-action films into one program, dressed up to look like the scratched, faded prints of cheap 1970s theaters, missing reels and all.

The first half is Rodriguez's Planet Terror. A toxic outbreak turns a Texas town into a swarm of oozing, raging mutants. Go-go dancer Cherry (Rose McGowan) loses a leg and gets an assault rifle bolted on in its place, while a handful of survivors shoot their way out. The second half is Tarantino's Death Proof. Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks young women and kills them with his armored muscle car, until he picks the wrong crew and they hit back. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson, Zoe Bell, Josh Brolin and Bruce Willis.

Between the two films sit fake trailers for movies that never existed, a gag that is half the fun. This is a love letter to low-budget genre cinema from two directors who grew up on it. Blood, engines and pitch-black humor, no limits. Stream Grindhouse (2007) online on iFILM.
