Synopsis

The Social Network (2010) is David Fincher's sharp-edged drama you can watch online on iFILM. Jesse Eisenberg plays Mark Zuckerberg — a Harvard undergraduate who codes a viral campus site in one sleepless night and, six years later, sits across from lawyers in two separate depositions.

Aaron Sorkin's screenplay uses those legal hearings as its spine. Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield), Mark's co-founder and best friend, is suing for diluted shares. The Winklevoss twins (Armie Hammer) claim he stole their concept. The flashbacks fill in the gap: late nights in the dorm, a rented server, and Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake) walking in with Silicon Valley swagger and a pitch that changes everything. Fincher shoots it all cold — blue-green interiors, low light — and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross deliver an electronic score that won the Academy Award.

Released six years after the real launch of Facebook, when the platform had already crossed half a billion users, the film turned one company's founding story into a parable about ambition and the cost of burning bridges. It won three Oscars, including Best Adapted Screenplay. Stream The Social Network (2010) online on iFILM.
