Synopsis
The Horse Whisperer (1998) is Robert Redford's drama you can watch online on iFILM. Redford both directed the film and played the lead. It opens with disaster: a riding accident leaves a young girl and her horse badly broken.
The mother, New York magazine editor Annie MacLean, cannot accept that her daughter Grace has shut down and that no one will treat the maimed animal. So she loads them both into a trailer and drives across the country to Montana, to Tom Booker, a man who can reach a horse without raising his voice. Tom takes on the animal. In doing so he slowly changes the people around it too.
Adapted from Nicholas Evans's novel, the film stretches close to three hours against the wide open country of the American West. Beside Redford stand Kristin Scott Thomas, Sam Neill, and a young Scarlett Johansson as Grace. Stream The Horse Whisperer (1998) online on iFILM.
