Synopsis
Pocahontas (1995) is a Disney animated adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Directors Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg shaped the story of a Powhatan chief's daughter in early 17th-century Virginia into one of the studio's most musically ambitious films, with a score by Alan Menken and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.
An English ship lands on the coast. Governor Ratcliffe (voiced by David Ogden Stiers) is convinced the forests are hiding gold and has no patience for anyone who gets in the way. Captain John Smith (Mel Gibson) expects a straightforward expedition until he meets Pocahontas (Irene Bedard). The language barrier falls away fast; the gap between two worlds is harder to close. Her father the chief (Russell Means) is readying warriors, Ratcliffe is handing out muskets, and time is running out for anyone who wants peace. Christian Bale voices Thomas, a young soldier caught between loyalties.
The film won two Academy Awards — Best Original Score and Best Original Song for "Colors of the Wind." Stream Pocahontas (1995) online on iFILM.
