Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass (2010) is a sharp-edged action comedy directed by Matthew Vaughn that you can watch online on iFILM. Based on Mark Millar's comic, it follows Dave Lizewski — played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson — an ordinary New York teen who orders a wetsuit, picks a name, and goes out to fight crime with zero training and no plan.

His first outing lands him in the emergency room. He goes back out anyway. What Dave doesn't know is that a real vigilante duo is already operating in the city: eleven-year-old Mindy, call sign Hit-Girl, and her father Drew — a former cop played by Nicolas Cage — who have spent years preparing to destroy drug lord D'Amico's operation. Mark Strong plays D'Amico with quiet menace, and Chloë Grace Moretz as Hit-Girl runs away with the entire film.

Vaughn shoots the action with more blood and wit than the Marvel machine would allow at the time. The film launched Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist and set up a sequel, but the original stands on its own. Stream Kick-Ass (2010) online on iFILM.
