World Trigger (Seasons 1–3)

World Trigger (ワールドトリガー, 2014) is a Toei Animation anime series you can watch online on iFILM. A dimensional gate tears open above Mikado City and creatures called Neighbors pour through — impervious to conventional weapons. Humanity's answer is Border, a clandestine agency that reverse-engineered alien technology to fight back on equal terms.

Border trainee Osamu Mikumo runs into a boy named Yuma Kuga carrying a suspiciously powerful weapon. Yuma turns out to be a Neighbor himself — one who has chosen, for reasons he won't easily explain, to protect humans rather than attack them. Adapted from Daisuke Ashihara's manga, the series builds its combat around tactics and intel instead of raw power escalation, which keeps fights interesting well into its extended run.
