Synopsis

"Helter Skelter" (2004) is a crime TV-movie you can watch online on iFILM, based on prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi's firsthand account of the Manson case. Director John Gray follows Charles Manson from his arrival at a ranch outside Los Angeles to the moment his followers are led into court.

Jeremy Davies plays Manson as a man who barely raises his voice. The violence radiates outward through people who had nothing and found, at the Spahn Ranch, the first place that felt like home. Clea DuVall plays Linda Kasabian — she came looking for community and ended up the prosecution's key witness. The August 1969 killings that claimed eight lives, among them actress Sharon Tate, are not the center of the film; the radicalization that led there is.

Bugliosi spent years on this case and later wrote the book the script draws from. That proximity gives the courtroom scenes a weight most true-crime films don't reach. Stream "Helter Skelter" (2004) on iFILM.
