Synopsis

Billy, alias Dr. Horrible, runs a video blog from his lab and has two goals: earn a spot in the Evil League of Evil and win Penny from the laundromat. Captain Hammer, the square-jawed local hero, keeps ruining both. The songs are catchy. The ending lands harder than expected.
Whedon shot this on his own dime during the 2007–08 Writers Guild strike, finishing in a matter of weeks. It became one of the most-watched web originals of its era and a touchstone of the format.
