Synopsis
Split (2017) — watch online one of M. Night Shyamalan's sharpest psychological thrillers, starring James McAvoy in a performance that earns every bit of the praise it received. Runtime: 117 minutes.
Kevin Wendell Crumb carries twenty-three distinct personalities inside one body. Each has its own logic, speech patterns and physical quirks. When Kevin abducts three teenage girls and holds them in a locked basement, the captives quickly realize they are not dealing with one captor — they are dealing with a rotating cast of them. Casey Cooke, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, stays observant when her friends fall apart. She watches, listens and picks her moments carefully. Meanwhile, Kevin's psychiatrist Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley) notices something new stirring in her patient's mind — a twenty-fourth personality she cannot explain or contain.
McAvoy shifts between a meek nine-year-old boy, a rigid obsessive and something far darker without cutting away. The film was shot on a lean budget and returned nearly $280 million worldwide. Shyamalan also plants a final-scene surprise that rewrites the film's place in a larger story. Stream Split (2017) in full online on iFILM.
