Synopsis
Julie and the Phantoms (2020) is a Netflix musical series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Kenny Ortega of High School Musical fame. It is a fantasy-comedy that ties grief, friendship and original songs into one compact season.
Fifteen-year-old Julie has stopped singing since losing her mother. Then three ghosts from a 1990s rock band appear out of an old demo tape — musicians who died the night before their big break and have been stuck ever since. Madison Reyes plays Julie, with Charlie Gillespie, Owen Joyner and Jeremy Shada as the phantom bandmates. Together they perform to real audiences; only Julie can see who is actually on stage with her.
