A young American woman arrives at Bly Manor, a secluded English estate, to look after two orphaned children. Their previous au pair died under circumstances nobody explains clearly. The children are oddly quiet. The staff are evasive. Victoria Pedretti plays the new nanny with a restrained, unsettling warmth that makes her refusal to leave both understandable and alarming. The season was directed by multiple filmmakers including Mike Flanagan, who created the previous entry in the anthology, The Haunting of Hill House.
