Unbelievable (Season 1)

Unbelievable (2019) is a Netflix limited series you can watch online on iFILM, starring Kaitlyn Dever, Toni Collette, and Merritt Wever. The show is based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation by ProPublica and The Marshall Project into a real string of rapes across the Pacific Northwest.

Marie is eighteen, a former foster kid with no one firmly in her corner. She reports an attack to police, but the detectives on the case push her until she recants. They charge her with filing a false report. Meanwhile, in two separate Colorado counties, detectives Karen Duvall and Grace Rasmussen are working similar cases independently — and slowly realize the same man may be behind all of them. The series cuts between Marie's ordeal and the investigation, showing exactly where institutional failure starts and where determined police work can still break through.

Screenwriter Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) adapted the source material across eight episodes. Both Toni Collette and Merritt Wever earned Golden Globe nominations for their performances. Stream Unbelievable online on iFILM.
