Synopsis
Little Nicholas (Le Petit Nicolas, 2009) is Laurent Tirard's French family comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Nicholas is a happy schoolboy with one wish: that absolutely nothing in his life ever changes.
Then he overhears a snippet of his parents talking and convinces himself his mother is pregnant. To his panicked imagination a baby brother is a clear threat, and he becomes sure his folks will abandon him in the woods like a character from an old fairy tale. So he and his rowdy gang of classmates cook up scheme after scheme to protect his spot in the family, and every plan collapses into fresh mischief. Maxime Godart plays Nicholas, surrounded by Kad Merad, Valérie Lemercier, Gérard Jugnot and François Damiens as the grown-ups.
Adapted from René Goscinny's beloved stories and Jean-Jacques Sempé's drawings, the film recreates 1950s France with real affection: pastel courtyards, school smocks, pure kid logic. No lectures, no syrup, just a warm comedy about childhood fears that lands for small viewers and parents alike. Stream Little Nicholas (2009) online on iFILM.
