The Ruins

The Ruins (2008) is an American horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Carter Smith from Scott Smith's own novel. Four young tourists in Mexico take a detour to a remote Mayan pyramid half-buried in the jungle — and find themselves immediately surrounded by armed locals who refuse to let anyone leave.

The threat on the hill is botanical, not supernatural, which makes it worse. Vines and creeping plants sense heat, infiltrate wounds, and replicate sounds to draw people closer. Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone and Shawn Ashmore play characters slowly stripped of options as days pass without rescue.
