Nothing to Declare

Nothing to Declare (Rien à déclarer, 2010) is a French buddy comedy from Dany Boon, available to watch online on iFILM. It's 1993, the border between France and Belgium is about to vanish, and two customs officers from opposite sides are forced into the same patrol, much to their mutual horror.

Belgian officer Ruben Vandevoorde, played by Benoît Poelvoorde, despises the French with cartoonish dedication and dreads losing his post once the checkpoints close. Frenchman Mathias Ducatel, played by Boon himself, is secretly dating Ruben's sister and volunteers to share a cramped patrol van just to win the man over. What follows is border-town absurdity: smugglers, national pride, frog legs versus Belgian waffles, and two stubborn men trapped in one small car.

Boon, who broke records with Welcome to the Sticks, again mines the friendly rivalry between neighboring cultures and again drew a massive crowd, landing among the most-attended French comedies of its year.
