[REC]⁴ Apocalypse

[REC]⁴ Apocalypse (2014) is a Spanish horror film you can watch online on iFILM. It closes out the [REC] franchise, and director Jaume Balagueró drags the zombie outbreak off the cramped Barcelona stairwells and out onto the open sea.

Reporter Ángela Vidal made it out of the infected building alive — Manuela Velasco returns to the role she launched the series with. Soldiers airlift her to a repurposed oil tanker, now a sealed lab miles from any shore. Scientists want to isolate the virus and hold the survivors in quarantine, surrounded by water with nowhere to run. The trouble is Ángela may be carrying the seed of the contagion herself. Steel corridors turn into a trap fast.

Balagueró drops the shaky found-footage gimmick that defined the earlier entries and shoots this one as a tight, locked-room ship thriller instead.
