The premise is a film set shooting a soap opera called Gli occhi del cuore 2 — "The Eyes of the Heart 2." Director René (Francesco Pannofino) has long stopped fighting the system. Around him: a prop master cutting every corner, a second director with a grudge, extras hustling for screen time, and producers who treat quality as an obstacle. Fresh assistant Alessandro (Alessandro Tiberi) walks into this circus and slowly realises this is just how Italian television works.

Boris became a cult series before the word was overused. It works as sharp satire of the TV industry, as workplace comedy, and as a portrait of a country making peace with mediocrity — Pietro Sermonti, Carolina Crescentini and Corrado Guzzanti among the standout cast.
