Ready Player One

Ready Player One (2018) is Steven Spielberg's sci-fi action blockbuster you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 2045. The real world is crumbling, so most people live inside OASIS — an enormous virtual universe where you can be anything. When OASIS creator James Halliday dies, he leaves his entire fortune to whoever finds a hidden Easter egg buried somewhere in the game.

Broke kid Wade Watts, played by Tye Sheridan, throws himself into the hunt. Standing in his way is the IOI corporation and its cold-blooded CEO Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn), who wants to own OASIS outright. Wade teams up with Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) and a small crew of rebels, racing through challenges loaded with 1980s and '90s pop-culture references. The film is based on Ernest Cline's 2011 novel.

Spielberg packed the screen with hundreds of nods — from Kubrick's The Shining to classic arcade games — without letting the references swallow the story whole.
