About
Synopsis
Open Water (2004) is an American survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Chris Kentis shot the film on a shoestring budget: actors Blanchard Ryan and Daniel Travis actually swam in the open Atlantic among live sharks — no cages, no controlled tank.
Susan and Daniel book a scuba diving excursion off the Bahamas. The boat counts wrong and leaves without them. Fifteen kilometers from shore, zero vessels in sight, and something circling below the surface.
The story is based on the real 1998 disappearance of divers Tom and Eileen Lonerghan, whose fate was never fully explained. Kentis filmed on a consumer digital camera, which makes every frame feel uncomfortably unscripted. Stream Open Water (2004) online on iFILM.
