Synopsis

The Boondocks (2005) is an Adult Swim animated series you can watch online on iFILM. Created by Aaron McGruder from his long-running comic strip, it takes dead aim at American race politics, media culture and suburban life — and rarely misses.

Granddad Freeman uproots his two grandsons from the South Side of Chicago and plants them in Woodcrest, a prosperous mostly-white suburb. Huey, ten years old and a committed leftist, treats every neighbour as a political problem to solve. His younger brother Riley just wants to tag walls and blast rap. Regina King voices both boys; John Witherspoon plays Granddad. Four seasons, no sacred cows.

McGruder's satire went after George Bush, BET, R. Kelly and the culture wars with equal ferocity — which is why the show still gets talked about. Stream every episode of The Boondocks online on iFILM.
