Synopsis
Black Books (2000) is a cult British sitcom from Channel 4 you can watch online on iFILM. Bernard Black runs a secondhand bookshop in London — reluctantly. He despises customers, shuts up whenever he likes, and treats the working day as an obstacle between himself and the next bottle.
Created by Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan, the series stars Moran as the belligerently misanthropic Bernard, Bill Bailey as his long-suffering assistant Manny, and Tamsin Greig as Fran, the pair's hapless neighbour who keeps wandering in. Three seasons, eighteen episodes, 2000 to 2004. The show won a BAFTA for Best Sitcom in 2001 and has held a devoted following ever since.
