Samurai Jack (Seasons 1–5)
Death is failure.
Synopsis
Samurai Jack (2001) is a landmark animated series you can watch online on iFILM. Created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network, the show blends anime-influenced visuals, action, and science fiction into a style unlike anything else on TV. Phil LaMarr voices the stoic, nameless warrior known only as Jack.
A young samurai prince, wielding an ancient blade capable of cutting through pure evil, nearly defeats the shape-shifting sorcerer Aku — until Aku hurls him thousands of years into a grim future. That future is Aku's domain: robot armies patrol alien landscapes, bizarre civilizations survive in the shadows, and hope is a dangerous thing to carry. Jack wanders this fractured world hunting for a time portal that can undo everything Aku built. Every episode drops him into a new culture, a new fight, a new test of whether the code he grew up with still holds.
The series ran for five seasons, with the final chapter airing in 2017 on Cartoon Network — darker and aimed at the audience that grew up watching the original. Tartakovsky built entire episodes around image and rhythm rather than dialogue. That approach earned him three Emmy Awards for the show.
