Vanishing

Vanishing (2022) is a French-Korean thriller you can watch online on iFILM. French forensic doctor Alice flies to Seoul for a medical conference and gets pulled into a string of brutal killings.

Alice has built a revolutionary technique for reconstructing and identifying mutilated remains, so the Korean police ask her to examine a body fished out of a river. That single autopsy leads straight into an underground organ-trafficking ring, and the corpses keep coming. She is paired with local detective Jin-ho, and the language gap between them turns into its own slow-burning tension. Olga Kurylenko plays the visiting expert, with Yoo Yeon-seok as the Seoul investigator.

Frenchman Denis Dercourt directs, and his take on nighttime Seoul runs colder than most Korean crime cinema: less shouting, more of the clinical hush of the morgue.
