Two Is a Family

Two Is a Family (Demain tout commence, 2016) is a French tragicomedy with Omar Sy that you can watch online on iFILM. A carefree party-boy from the south of France is handed a baby by an ex-girlfriend and sets out to return the child to her mother as fast as he can.

Samuel chases the woman to London and loses her trail. With no other option, he ends up raising little Gloria on his own. Eight years pass. The former playboy turns into a frantic, funny, genuinely devoted father, and his daughter becomes the whole point of his life. Then the mother who vanished shows up at the door.

Directed by Hugo Gélin, the film reworks the Mexican comedy Instructions Not Included. After The Intouchables, Omar Sy again plays charm and heartbreak in the same breath, alongside Clémence Poésy and young Gloria Colston. The ending lands harder than a comedy has any right to.
