Synopsis

Mission to Mars (2000) is a sci-fi adventure film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Brian De Palma crafted a slow-burning, visually striking space epic with Gary Sinise, Tim Robbins, and Don Cheadle — a film more interested in wonder than spectacle, and more comfortable with silence than explosions.

The first crewed landing on Mars ends in disaster. Something is out there on the surface — a structure that shouldn't exist — and the crew goes dark before anyone can find out what it is. A rescue mission launches immediately. Gary Sinise plays Jim McConnell, an astronaut who missed the first flight and now leads the search party across the Martian plains. Tim Robbins commands the rescue crew; Don Cheadle is the sole survivor of the initial team, and what he's seen has left him barely able to speak.

De Palma frames the planet as a presence — vast, quiet, and older than anything humans have ever encountered. The answer waiting beneath the surface rewrites the story of where we came from. Stream Mission to Mars online on iFILM.
