The Mothman Prophecies

The Mothman Prophecies (2002) — watch online on iFILM: a supernatural thriller directed by Mark Pellington, starring Richard Gere as a Washington journalist who blacks out on the highway and wakes up four hundred miles from home in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, with no memory of the drive.

Residents there keep describing the same thing: a massive winged shape with red eyes, phone calls with predictions that come true, visions before the worst moments of their lives. Gere's character can't dismiss it — his wife sketched the same creature before she died. Laura Linney plays a local sheriff who has seen it herself and is running out of rational explanations. Alan Bates appears as a researcher who has collected hundreds of similar accounts from across the country.
