[REC]

[REC] (2007) is a Spanish found-footage horror you can watch online on iFILM. Late-night TV host Angela and her cameraman tag along with a fire crew in Barcelona for a fluffy human-interest segment, then ride out on what looks like a routine call to an ordinary apartment block.

It is not routine. An elderly woman lunges at a paramedic, health authorities seal the building without a word, and the doors are welded shut from outside. Nobody gets out. An infection tears up through the floors, tenants turn one by one, and Angela keeps filming because the lens is the only thing holding the panic back. The whole movie runs in a single first-person view, shot through that camera.

Directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza pack it into a breathless 75 minutes and set a template Hollywood later copied with the remake Quarantine. The finale drops into total darkness, leaving only night vision and the breathing just off-frame. Stream [REC] (2007) online on iFILM.
