Synopsis
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) is a road-trip comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Writer-director Kevin Smith plays Silent Bob himself alongside Jason Mewes as the loudmouthed Jay. The two discover that a comic book based on their lives — Bluntman and Chronic — has been sold to Hollywood, and the studio owes them exactly nothing in royalties.
So they hitchhike across the country to Miramax's front gate and shut the whole production down. Along the way they team up with a crew of jewel thieves, get hunted by a scenery-chewing wildlife marshal played by Will Ferrell, and keep running into anonymous internet trolls who despise them. The film burns through celebrity cameos at a reckless pace — Ben Affleck and Matt Damon play themselves, Chris Rock, Carrie Fisher, George Carlin, and Shannon Elizabeth all turn up.
The fifth entry in Smith's View Askewniverse, built around New Jersey slackers since Clerks (1994), plays like a deliberate self-roast of the whole series. Stream Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) online on iFILM.
