Synopsis

My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) is a romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Toula Portokalos is past thirty, still waiting tables at her family's restaurant, and surrounded by relatives who believe every word in every language traces back to ancient Greek. Then she decides enough is enough.

Nia Vardalos wrote the script from her own life and stars as Toula, who quietly reinvents herself — night school, contact lenses, a job outside the family bubble — and falls for Ian Miller, played by John Corbett. The catch: Ian is not Greek. For Toula's father Gus, played by Michael Constantine, a non-Greek son-in-law is practically a natural disaster. The film follows the diplomacy of converting, catering and convincing an extended family that love can cross the Aegean.

Director Joel Zwick turned a personal story into one of Hollywood's most profitable independent films ever — nearly $370 million worldwide on a $5 million budget. Stream My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) online on iFILM.
