Synopsis
Lakeview Terrace (2008) is a crime thriller with Samuel L. Jackson that you can watch online on iFILM. Newlyweds Chris and Lisa move into their dream house in suburban Los Angeles. The neighbor across the way is a cop. What could be safer than that?
Abel Turner has spent twenty-eight years on the LAPD. A widower raising two kids alone, he polices his street the way he polices the city, and the couple's interracial marriage rubs him the wrong way. He lets them know it. First the security floodlights blazing through their windows at night. Then the chilly little lectures. Then it escalates. Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington play a pair who tolerate it, then realize there's nowhere to back down to — and the man tormenting them knows every law and how to stay clean.
Director Neil LaBute builds a slow squeeze rather than a jump-scare ride, turning a property-line feud into open war. Jackson is the engine here: charming and menacing in the same breath, never cartoonish. The film bites because, in his broken logic, Turner half-believes he's the one in the right. One for fans of quiet-suburb thrillers where the threat lives right across the street. Stream Lakeview Terrace (2008) online on iFILM.
