Neal Oliver has a life mapped out by someone else: law school, a safe career, a future he never chose. A chance encounter with the wish-granting trickster O.W. Grant sends him onto Interstate 60 — a highway that appears on no map. Every town along the route runs on a different rule: one place where no one can say no, another where consequences don't exist. Somewhere at the end of the road is the girl from a dream Neal can't shake.

Gale wrote the script after Back to the Future and kept the same playful logic about cause and effect. Oldman disappears into a shape-shifting role, Lloyd delivers the film's most memorable scene, and the whole thing works as a quietly strange parable about choosing your own destination.
