Synopsis

Brashear arrives at diving school in the late 1940s carrying nothing but ambition and the knowledge that the Navy's unwritten rules were not written for him. Chief Sunday (De Niro) makes every training day a gauntlet. The worse it gets, the harder Brashear pushes back. Then a crippling accident gives the Navy the excuse it needs to end his career — and Brashear refuses to let it.
