Synopsis

Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) is a Walt Disney animated adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, the film follows Milo Thatch (voiced by Michael J. Fox) — a museum linguist who has spent years chasing his grandfather's obsession with the sunken civilization.

A wealthy eccentric named Preston Whitmore bankrolls the mission, and Milo joins a crew of hardened specialists: a demolitions expert, a teenage mechanic, a fast-talking field medic. Deep beneath the Atlantic they find something no one expected — not a ruin but a breathing city, its aging king voiced by Leonard Nimoy, and a warrior princess Kida (Cree Summer) who hasn't seen the surface world in centuries. Commander Rourke (James Garner) leads the expedition — but his real agenda has nothing to do with history.

Released in June 2001 with a $120 million production budget, the film stood apart from the Disney musical era: no songs, just Jules Verne-style action and a hand-drawn world built around the fictional Shepherd's Journal. Stream Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) online on iFILM.
