Trouble with the Curve

Trouble with the Curve (2012) — watch online on iFILM. Director Robert Lorenz's drama follows Gus Lobel, a career baseball scout played by Clint Eastwood, on what may be his final assignment. His eyesight is going. The Atlanta Braves front office wants him replaced by algorithms. His boss, played by John Goodman, buys him one last road trip to evaluate a hard-hitting prospect in North Carolina.

Gus doesn't go alone. His daughter Mickey, played by Amy Adams, is a driven attorney who spent most of her childhood waiting for a father who was always somewhere else chasing prospects. Three days at the ballpark reopen old wounds and start a different kind of negotiation. Justin Timberlake plays a young scout from a rival team who takes an interest in Mickey — and in what Gus still sees that the data doesn't.

Lorenz had spent years producing films for Eastwood before making his directorial debut here. For Eastwood himself, it was his first on-screen role in a film he didn't also direct since In the Line of Fire in 1993. Stream Trouble with the Curve (2012) on iFILM.
