Synopsis
Tales from the Hood (1995) is an American horror anthology film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Rusty Cundieff delivers four short stories wrapped in a funeral parlour framing device, where three drug dealers are held captive by a bizarre mortician played by Clarence Williams III.
Each tale turns a real social wound into genre horror. The first follows a Black activist beaten to death by cops whose ghost won't stay quiet. The second puts a racist Southern politician in the path of voodoo dolls moulded from plantation soil. The third traps a child in a home where the violence is human, not supernatural. The fourth drops a gang member into a sinister behavioural rehabilitation lab. David Alan Grier and Corbin Bernsen appear in separate segments. Spike Lee produced.
At 98 minutes, the film moves fast and leaves each story with a sharp ending. Stream Tales from the Hood (1995) online on iFILM.
