Synopsis
The Trunk (트렁크, 2024) is a Korean drama-mystery series you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Kim Kyu-tae and led by Seo Hyun-jin and Gong Yoo, it opens with something washing up on a riverbank — a trunk whose contents immediately unravel the story of a clandestine marriage agency.
The agency's business model is unusual: contract marriages arranged for clients who need a spouse on paper, no questions asked. Lonely people, people with things to hide, people protecting someone else. The arrangement is meant to stay clean and transactional. It doesn't. The central couple finds themselves at the heart of a scandal that drags up secrets neither of them signed up for.
Kim Kyu-tae directed the beloved Lovers in Paris and brings the same instinct for layering romantic tension against a thriller backbone.
