Synopsis

The Water Diviner (2014) is a wartime drama you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 1919. Joshua Connor, an Australian farmer with a gift for finding water beneath dry ground, sails to Turkey to recover the bodies of his three sons, lost in the war.

All three vanished at Gallipoli four years earlier. Connor pushes through a ravaged country, past stonewalling officials and the suspicion of men who were recently his enemies, determined to learn what happened to his boys. Along the way an Istanbul hotelkeeper named Ayshe, played by Olga Kurylenko, gives him shelter. Russell Crowe takes the lead as a father who once dug wells at home and now digs for the truth on foreign soil, finding hope where he never looked for it.

This marked Crowe's debut behind the camera, and he frames the story around grief and reconciliation, giving rare screen time to the Turkish side of Gallipoli. A measured, grown-up drama for viewers drawn to films about memory and the cost of war. Stream The Water Diviner (2014) online on iFILM.
