Firebreak

Firebreak (Cortafuego, 2026) is a Spanish thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by David Victor and starring Belén Cuesta. Running 107 minutes, it moves fast and leaves no room to breathe.

A family is packing up their home near the forest when their young daughter Lide wanders off into the trees and disappears. At exactly that moment, a wildfire breaks out on the hillside. The mother races into the forest to find her child; the fire moves in the same direction. Her husband (Enric Auquer) tries to hold the situation together from the edge of the treeline while the window to get out safely closes behind them.

The film strips the survival thriller down to a single question and refuses to let go of it. Cuesta carries the whole thing on physical performance — very little dialogue, almost no backstory.
