About

Synopsis

Stuart Little (1999) is a Columbia Pictures family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Rob Minkoff blended live-action and CGI to bring E. B. White's 1945 children's novel to the screen, with Michael J. Fox voicing the mouse and Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie playing his very human parents.

The Littles decide to adopt. Their son George expects a kid brother. He gets a three-inch-tall mouse in a blazer who talks, drives a toy car, and takes the guest bedroom. The family cat, Snowbell (Nathan Lane), is personally offended. Chazz Palminteri voices the neighbourhood tough Smokey, who agrees that a mouse living as a person is an outrage that cannot stand.

Made on a $133 million budget, the film earned over $300 million worldwide and launched two sequels. The mix of a practical-looking animated character with real sets and actors was handled by the Jim Henson Company's creature shop and Industrial Light & Magic — still impressive for its era.
