Now Adam surfaces in 1990s Los Angeles to find food, supplies, and a wife. He's well-read, polite, knows how to foxtrot, and has absolutely no idea how any of this city works. Eve (Alicia Silverstone) is the first person to give him the time of day, mostly because she assumes he's harmless. He kind of is. The film earns its charm from Fraser's genuinely sweet performance and the running joke that a man raised on 1960s manners turns out to be better company than anyone Eve actually knows.
