Pokémon (ポケットモンスター, 1997) is a landmark Japanese animated series from TV Tokyo and studio OLM that you can watch online on iFILM. It ran for 25 seasons and 1,235 episodes before wrapping up — one of the longest continuous animated runs in television history. Rica Matsumoto voiced the protagonist from episode one to the finale; Ikue Otani gave Pikachu every squeak and spark across the same stretch.

Ten-year-old Ash Ketchum leaves Pallet Town with one partner: a stubborn electric mouse who wants nothing to do with him. The two earn each other's trust one gym badge at a time. Misty and Brock join early; other companions rotate in across different regions — Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola. Chasing them at every turn is Team Rocket's trio of Jessie, James and Meowth, who lose Pikachu so reliably it stops being funny and starts being tradition. "Gotta catch 'em all" stopped being a tagline decades ago and became part of the cultural vocabulary.
