Synopsis

Liar Liar (1997) is a Universal Pictures fantasy comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Tom Shadyac. Jim Carrey plays Fletcher Reede, a smooth-talking attorney who lies reflexively — to clients, to his ex-wife Audrey (Maura Tierney), to his young son Max — and has built an entire career on it.

On Max's birthday, the boy makes one wish before blowing out his candles: that his dad would stop lying for just one day. It works. Fletcher wakes up completely incapable of saying anything false for the next 24 hours. That would be inconvenient for anyone; for a lawyer with a high-stakes divorce case starting the same morning, it is a full catastrophe. Cary Elwes plays Audrey's new boyfriend, and Jennifer Tilly appears as a client whose case depends entirely on selective truth-telling. The film runs 86 minutes and barely stops for breath.

The bathroom self-fight scene became one of the most-quoted pieces of physical comedy from the decade. Released in March 1997, the film earned over $300 million worldwide on a $45 million budget. Stream Liar Liar (1997) on iFILM.
