Synopsis
Apollo 18 (2011) is a sci-fi horror film by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego that you can watch online on iFILM. It's framed as recovered footage from a classified lunar mission the records insist never happened.
December 1974. Three astronauts touch down on the far side of the moon for a secret job ordered by the Department of Defense. At first it's all routine: planting the flag, bagging rock samples, ticking off readings. Then the cameras catch footprints that aren't theirs, garbled radio static, and something shifting between the boulders. Warren Christie and Lloyd Owen play men trapped in a cramped lander, a quarter of a million miles from any rescue.
Shot as a mockumentary, it sells grainy 16mm film, crackling comms and fragmentary tapes as a leaked NASA archive. The pace is slow, leaning on claustrophobia and the silence of space instead of cheap jump scares. One for fans of The Blair Witch Project and anyone who loves a good moon-conspiracy creeper.
