Synopsis
Role Models (2008) is a Universal Pictures comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by David Wain, it follows two energy-drink salesmen — deadpan Danny (Paul Rudd) and high-energy Wheeler (Seann William Scott) — who destroy a company truck and land in court.
The judge gives them a choice: jail or 150 hours in a youth mentorship program called Sturdy Wings. They pick the kids. Big mistake. Danny gets paired with Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), a sixteen-year-old devotee of LAIRE — an elaborate live-action role-playing league where grown men fight with foam swords for imaginary kingdoms. Wheeler draws Ronnie, a foul-mouthed ten-year-old who trusts no one. Overseeing the whole operation is program director Gayle Sweeny, played by Jane Lynch with the unblinking authority of a general. Elizabeth Banks plays Danny's exasperated ex-girlfriend; Ken Jeong shows up as King Argotron, whose throne room scene became one of the film's most quoted moments.
