Synopsis

August Rush (2007) is a music-driven drama from Warner Bros. that you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Kirsten Sheridan and starring Freddie Highmore, Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Robin Williams. An eleven-year-old boy in a New York City orphanage hears music everywhere — in traffic, in wind, in the city itself — and decides it's a signal pointing him toward his birth parents.

Evan runs away, lands in the hands of a street operator called the Wizard (Robin Williams), who renames him August Rush and sets about exploiting a musical gift that borders on the inexplicable. His parents don't know he's looking. Irish guitarist Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and cellist Lyla (Keri Russell) were separated by circumstance years ago; both are carrying a loss neither fully understands. Terrence Howard plays the social worker caught between procedure and doing the obvious right thing.

The film's score blends rock, classical and street music into one continuous sound — which is the film's real argument: that music crosses distances people think are permanent. Stream August Rush (2007) online on iFILM.
