The Man from Earth
From one of the acclaimed writers of Star Trek and The Twilight Zone comes a story that transcends both time and space...
Synopsis
The Man from Earth (2007) is a low-budget American sci-fi drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Richard Schenkman adapted Jerome Bixby's final screenplay — the writer behind some of the most memorable Star Trek and Twilight Zone episodes. The entire film cost around $200,000 and unfolds almost entirely inside a single cabin.
Professor John Oldman (David Lee Smith) throws a goodbye party before abruptly quitting his post. Late in the evening he levels a claim at his colleagues: he is fourteen thousand years old, quietly moving on every few decades before anyone notices he doesn't age. A biologist, a historian and a psychologist push back hard. Tony Todd and John Billingsley turn what could be a lecture into a sharp, restless argument about history, faith and what memory even means across millennia.
No effects, no set pieces — just ideas that get harder to dismiss as the night goes on. Stream The Man from Earth (2007) online on iFILM.
