Signal (Season 1)

Signal (시그널, 2016) is a South Korean crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM — a 16-episode series where a walkie-talkie bridges a present-day detective and his counterpart stuck in 1989. Director Kim Won-seok fused procedural drama with science fiction in a way that rarely feels gimmicky.

Three investigators anchor the story. Criminal profiler Park Hae-young (Lee Je-hoon) starts noticing that cold cases are suddenly breakable. Veteran detective Cha Soo-hyun (Kim Hye-soo) carries a long secret tied to a string of 1980s murders. And senior inspector Lee Jae-han (Jo Jin-woong) is hunting the same killer three decades in the past, unaware that his voice is crossing time. Every radio session lasts exactly one minute. Every word can rewrite what already happened.
